Royal Fisheries

Established in Whitby since 1968, Royal Fisheries is a family-run traditional fish and chip shop and café in a town world-famous for fish and chips!

The Fusco family started producing fish & chips in the 1950s in Pickering, North Yorkshire. In 1968 they moved to Whitby and bought the Royal Fisheries.

Since then the business has been very successful, producing top quality fish & chips from the finest ingredients. Very high grade fresh fish, bought locally whenever possible, is always used. Top quality potatoes are sourced for the preparation of our trade-mark crinkle-cut chips.

As well as the take-away there is a 48 seat café with table service.

The shop is open all year, closing only for two weeks in early January.

Opening times are :

Mon to Thur. 11.30 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. (Café closes 6 p.m.)

Fri 11.30 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.(Café closes 6 p.m.)

Sat 11.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. (Café closes 6.30 p.m.)

Both Cafe and Takeaway are open later during High Season, and Sundays during School Holidays.

Both Royal Fisheries and the Quayside are Quality Award Holders – (currently only eighteen shops in the whole of North Yorkshire have this).
