Young Fish Frier of the Year 2004/5	National Awards Stuart Fusco – Young Fish Frier of the Year 2004 It was a proud moment for the Fusco family when in 2004 Stuart won the National Title of Young Fish Frier of the Year. This was something that he had worked at for a long time, being a runner-up twice, before finally clinching the title. Judging goes through various stages of elimination and each candidate must have a very wide knowledge of the trade as well as, of course, being able to fry the best fish and chips. The competition is sponsored by the National Federation of Fish Friers and Drywite who are suppliers to the trade. __
	Les Routiers Café of the Year 2005 This prestigious title was awarded to the Quayside at the Annual presentations of Les Routiers in Britain. The gold award was presented at the Les Routiers Awards Dinner which was held at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel in Park Lane, London. The restaurant took the title of Café of the North and then went on to be the overall National winners with the gold award ‘Café of the Year 2005’. Carol Fusco said: “The judging for this title is completely anonymous so we didn’t prepare specially, it was just as they found us!” Comment from the new 2006 Les Routiers Guide, which was also launched at the ceremony, states ‘Enthusiasm and professionalism. Stuart Fusco is nationally acknowledged as one of the best friers around. The café is kept in pristine condition and staff are always pleasant and attentive’.
.	Seafish Quality Award Quayside has been a holder of the prestigious Seafish Quality Award every year since 2000. Stringent criteria must be met to achieve this award, with regular spot checks from Seafish Industry Authority. In the new Star Rating Scheme Quayside acheived a Top 5 Star Rating - only a handful throughout the UK have acheived this.
UK Skills Award Following Stuarts’ success in winning the Young Fish Frier Award he also received the UK Skills Award by the TV personality David Grant at the G Mex in Manchester.	Stuart Fusco and David Grant
	U.K. Fish & Chip Shop of the Year Quayside was placed in the top five shops in Yorkshire in the 2005 Fish & Chip Shop of the Year Competition, and is now Top Fish & Chip Shop in Yorkshire in the 2008 competition.
Roy Castle Clean Air Award The Quayside was also awarded the Roy Castle Clean Air Award; one of the few places in Whitby to have done so. The Quayside has now been a completely non-smoking establishment since opening in 1999.
	Tourism Award Quayside has been shortlisted two years running (2007 & 2008) for a Tourism Award in the Yorkshire Moor & Coast Tourism Awards.
Whitby in Bloom Quayside have been supporters of the Whitby in Bloom initiative for several years, and have won many awards for our floral dispalyswhich we make up ourselves.
